Japan Partially restricted
Entry Restrictions
As of April 29, 2020, foreign nationals who fall into either of the following categories are prohibited from entering Japan:
(1) Foreign nationals who have visited any of the following locations within 14 days of their arrival in Japan:
Africa: Cote d’lvoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Mauritius, Morocco
Asia: Brunei Darussalam, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Macau SAR, Mainland China, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam
Europe: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City

(2) Persons holding Chinese passports issued in Hubei Province or Zhejiang Province.
Quarantine Requirements
(1) All persons (including Japanese nationals) who have visited any of the above-listed locations within 14 days of their arrival in Japan must undergo a polymerase chain reaction (PRC) test for COVID-19.
(2) Regardless of origin, all persons (including Japanese nationals) must undergo a 14-day quarantine at a designated location and refrain from using public transportation.
Visa Restrictions
The Japanese government has suspended the validity of single- and multiple-entry visas issued by Japanese embassies or consulates in numerous countries and regions prior to specific dates. Visa exemption agreements with numerous countries is suspended. Visa exemptions for holders of APEC Business Travel Cards issued by several countries is suspended. A complete list of visa suspensions is available from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website.
A nationwide state of emergency is in effect. All residents are asked to refrain from nonessential activities through May 31, 2020.
South Korea Partially restricted
From May 1, 2020, Chinese nationals traveling to South Korea for business purposes may qualify for special “fast-track” immigration clearance provided they hold proof of a negative test for COVID-19 performed no more than 72 hours prior to departure. They must again test negative for COVID-19 upon arrival in Korea before being exempted from the mandatory quarantine procedures described below. Persons using “fast-track” immigration clearance are subject to standard government surveillance measures in place to combat COVID-19.
“Special immigration procedures” are in place for all persons arriving in South Korea regardless of origin. Individuals are allowed entry only after they provide verifiable contact information and an address within South Korea valid for the duration of their stay. All persons are required to install either the “Self-quarantine Safety Protection App” or the “Mobile Self-diagnosis App” on their phones and follow the instructions for documenting their health condition on a daily basis for 14 days.
From April 1, 2020, all persons (including Korean nationals) are required to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine irrespective of their country of departure. Persons showing symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival will be diagnosed and tested. Those who test positive will be transferred to a hospital or “Living Treatment Center.” Asymptomatic persons (including Korean nationals) will be instructed on relevant quarantine procedures depending on their country of origin. (See above for a possible exemption for Chinese business travelers).
From March 19, 2020, foreign nationals arriving from Hubei Province in China are prohibited from entering. Enhanced screening and quarantine measures are in place for persons arriving from Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Iran, Italy, and Macau SAR.
Singapore Entry prohibited
From April 10, 2020, the following policies are in place:
1) All short-term visitors regardless of origin are prohibited from entering or transiting through Singapore;
2) All persons (including Singapore citizens and permanent residents) must submit a health declaration to immigration authorities upon arrival;
3) All persons (including Singapore nationals, permanent residents, and Long-Term Pass holders) must undergo a 14-day quarantine at a designated facility regardless of their country of origin;
4) All foreign nationals holding a Long-Term Pass issued by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) must obtain prior permission from the relevant government agency prior to departing for Singapore. This includes Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) or Student’s Pass (STP), or In-Principle Approval (IPA) letters for LTVP or STP.
Mainland China Partially restricted
From May 1, 2020, Korean nationals traveling to China for business purposes may qualify for special “fast-track” immigration clearance provided they meet the following criteria:
1) They are sponsored by a Korean or Chinese firm in China that has successfully applied for permission to use the “fast-track” program;
2) They hold a letter of invitation from the sponsoring firm;
3) They were issued a valid visa by a Chinese embassy or consulate in Korea.
Prior to departing for China, persons using the “fast-track” program must:
1) Self-monitor for 14 days for symptoms of COVID-19;
2) Obtain a certificate issued no more than 72 hours prior to scheduled departure from a healthcare provider designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare stating they have tested negative for COVID-19.
Upon arrival in China, persons using the “fast-track” program must:
1) Undergo 1-2 days quarantine at a designated location;
2) Test negative for COVID-19 on both a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and a serological (antibody) test;
3) Use prearranged transportation to their final destination upon confirmation of negative test results.
Korea nationals using the “fast-track” program are restricted to the following regions in China: Anhui Province, Chongqing Municipality, Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province, Liaoning Province, Shaanxi Province, Shandong Province, Shanghai Municipality, Sichuan Province, and Tianjin Municipality.
From March 28, 2020, the following policies are in place:
1) Foreign nationals holding valid visas or residency permits are prohibited from entering China (see above for a possible exemption for Korean business travelers);
2) Foreign nationals holding APEC Business Travel Cards are prohibited from entering China;
3) The following visa-free or temporary visa arrangements are temporarily suspended:
Port visas, 24/72/144-hour visa-free transit, Hainan 30-day visa-free entry, 15-day visa-free entry for foreign cruise ships or groups tours at Shanghai Port, Guangdong 144-hour visa-free entry for foreign tour groups from Hong Kong SAR or Macau SAR, and Guangxi 15-day visa-free entry for foreign tour groups from ASEAN countries.
4) Diplomatic, service, courtesy, or “C” visas are not impacted;
5) Foreign nationals coming to China for necessary economic, trade, scientific or technological activities, or for emergency humanitarian needs may continue to apply for visas at Chinese embassies or consulates. Foreign nationals holding visas issued after these policies were implemented may enter China.
Be advised, many provincial authorities in China have implemented additional policies and restrictions on both Chinese and foreign nationals. All persons may be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine in a designated facility at their own expense.
Hong Kong, China Partially restricted
From March 25, 2020, the following policies are in place: 1) All non-residents arriving from overseas by air are prohibited from entering Hong Kong SAR; 2) All non-residents arriving from Mainland China, Macau SAR, or Taiwan who have visited any other country or region within 14 days of arrival are prohibited from entering Hong Kong SAR; 3) All persons (including Hong Kong SAR residents) arriving from Mainland China, Macau SAR, or Taiwan are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine at a designated facility. From April 22, 2020, all persons arriving at Hong Kong International Airport who are not exhibiting symptoms will be taken to a designated location and tested for COVID-19. All persons are required to wait onsite for their test results. Those who test negative will be released to proceed directly to their homes or a designated quarantine facility where they must complete their mandatory 14-day quarantine. Mandatory quarantine requirements do not apply to cross-boundary students and persons receiving or providing nursery, kindergarten, primary, or secondary education, and persons whose travel is necessary for purposes relating to manufacturing operations, business activities, or the provision of professional services.
Macau, China Partially restricted
From March 19, 2020, all non-residents arriving from overseas are prohibited from entering Macau SAR. This policy does not apply to residents of Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, and Taiwan provided they have not traveled to any other country or region within 14 days of their arrival in Macau SAR. From April 6, 2020, shuttle bus service on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is suspended.
Taiwan, China Entry prohibited
From April 7, 2020, all non-Taiwanese residents are prohibited from entering Taiwan. This policy does not apply to those holding an Alien Residential Certificate, those with an approved visa for diplomatic purposes, those with an approved visa to conduct business, or those with other designated authorization.
All persons granted entry into Taiwan must self-isolate for 14 days. Persons who have visited Southeast Asia within 14 days of their departure for Taiwan should complete the COVID-19 Health Declaration and Home Quarantine Notice as well as confirm if their residence satisfies the home quarantine requirements prior to boarding.
From March 24, 2020, all transfer and stopover flights in Taiwan are suspended.
India Entry prohibited
From March 18, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering India. This policy does not apply to persons involved in the transport of essential goods and supplies; however, such persons must undergo medical screening for COVID-19 upon arrival. From April 14, 2020, all international flights and rail services are suspended. A nationwide lockdown in place until May 18, 2020.
From March 13, 2020, all visas issued to foreign nationals who have not yet entered India are no longer valid. This policy does not apply to visas issued to diplomats, official passport holders, persons working for the United Nations or other international organizations, those holding employment or project visas, and aircrew members on scheduled commercial airlines. Visas of all foreign nationals already in India remain valid. All visa-free arrangements for holders of Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) cards are suspended.
Indonesia Entry prohibited
From April 2, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Indonesia. This policy does not apply to persons who fall into one of the following categories:
1) Those who hold a Temporary Stay Permit or a Permanent Stay Permit;
2) Those who hold an Indonesian diplomatic visa or service visa, or those who hold Indonesian diplomatic stay or service permits;
3) Those engaged in medical, food, or humanitarian aid services;
4) Crews of land, sea, or air transportation;
5) Foreign nationals working on national strategic projects.
From April 24, 2020, sea travel as well as domestic and international flights are suspended. This policy does not apply to cargo transport, repatriation flights, and transport for diplomats or staff of international organizations. The ban on sea travel will extend to June 8, 2020. The ban on air travel will extend to June 1, 2020. All visa-free arrangements are suspended. This policy does not apply to medical staff or those holding a certificate or recommendation from the Indonesian government.
Malaysia Entry prohibited
From March 18 to May 12, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Malaysia. All Malaysian nationals returning from abroad are required to undergo a health check and self-isolate for 14 days. A nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO) is in effect.
United Arab Emirates Entry prohibited
From March 25, 2020, all inbound and outbound flights are suspended. From March 19, 2020, all visa-free and visa-on-arrival arrangements are suspended and persons holding a valid residence visa are prohibited from entering the United Arab Emirates.
Afghanistan Partially restricted
Travelers will be screened, those showing symptoms will be quarantined.
Azerbaijan Partially restricted
From March 24, for one month, the country is in a nationwide quarantine.
All arriving travelers will be screened for symptoms. In case of any suspected exposure, the passenger — regardless of national origin or purpose of travel — will be evaluated and sent to specially designated facilities for quarantine. From March 11, all travelers are required to self-quarantine at home for 14 days after entry.Entry to Azerbaijan is temporarily suspended for all citizens of China and Iran. Visa issuance for the citizens of these countries has also been suspended.
The border with Iran, Georgia, Russia and Turkey are closed. Flights to and from China, Iran, France, Germany, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are cancelled.
Issuance of e-visas has been temporarily suspended for all foreign citizens for a period of 45 days. Those who wish to visit can apply for a visa via their local embassy.

Bangladesh Partially restricted
The Bangladeshi government has suspended all visa-on-arrival services until further notice. Foreign nationals must visit a Bangladeshi embassy or consulate abroad and produce a valid medical certificate showing they have not tested positive for COVID-19 in order to obtain a visa. Foreign nationals arriving from countries impacted by COVID-19 must undergo a two-week quarantine. A nationwide lockdown is in effect until May 16, 2020.
Bahrain Partially restricted
From March 18, visa on arrival will be suspended, all travelers are required to self-quarantine for 14 days. Travelers from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon will be banned from entering, except for Bahrain citizens, citizens of GCC member states and foreigners with residence visas.
Brunei Darussalam Entry prohibited
From March 24, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering or transiting through Brunei. The Bruneian government has suspended the issuing of new visas.
Bhutan Entry prohibited
From March 25, land borders will be sealed.
Cambodia Partially restricted
From March 30, 2020, the Cambodian government has suspended the issuing of tourist visas, e-visas, and visas on arrival to all foreign nationals until further notice. Foreign nationals must obtain a visa from a Cambodian embassy or consulate abroad before departing for Cambodia and must present a valid medical certificate issued no more than 72 hours prior to departure attesting they have not tested positive for COVID-19. Foreign nationals also must provide proof of medical insurance valid for the intended duration of stay in Cambodia. The amount of coverage must be at least US$50,000. Foreign nationals from France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Spain, and the United States are prohibited from entering Cambodia.
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Entry prohibited
North Korea has shut down all of its air and railway routes across its borders with China, and is keeping all foreigners arriving in the country via China isolated for up to one month.
Iran Partially restricted
Iran currently prohibits all Chinese citizens and Hong Kong SAR residents holding private ordinary passports from entering the country.
Iraq Entry prohibited
From March 26, 2020, entry to Iraq is prohibited. Travel between Iraqi provinces is also prohibited. A nationwide curfew is in effect until May 22, 2020.
Israel Entry prohibited
From March 18, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Israel. This policy does not apply to Israeli citizens or residents.
Jordan Entry prohibited
From March 17, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Jordan for tourism. This policy does not apply to personnel from diplomatic missions and international organizations; however, such persons are required to self-isolate for 14 days.
From March 27, 2020, a 24-hour curfew is in place.
Kazakhstan Normal
The government of Kazakhstan declared a state of emergency, and will bar citizens from going overseas and foreigners from entering the country, except diplomatic services and members of international delegations from March 16 until May 11,2020.
All persons entering Kazakhstan from abroad will be quarantined for 14 days at designated locations.
From April 1 until July 1, 2020, the 72-hour visa free transit visa policy will be suspended. Nur-Sultan and Almaty International Airports have suspended international flights until further notice.
From April 1, all persons entering Kazakhstan from abroad will undergo laboratory tests and be isolated in hospitals. Those with a positive test result will be transferred to an infectious disease hospital for treatment, those with a negative result have to self-quarantine at home for 14 days. From April 4, Kazakhstan ’s borders with China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan will be temporarily closed.
Kuwait Partially restricted
From April 9, 2020, commercial passenger flights have resumed operations in order to allow Kuwaiti nationals to return and foreign nationals to depart Kuwait should they wish to do so. Foreign nationals (including holders of residence permits or visas) who have visited any of the following countries or regions within 14 days of their arrival in Kuwait are prohibited from entering: Hong Kong SAR, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Mainland China, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. Travelers transiting via Singapore or Japan are prohibited from entering Kuwait. From March 22, 2020, a nationwide curfew is in effect.
Kyrgyzstan Entry prohibited
From March 19, Kyrgyzstan will ban entry of citizens of foreign states and stateless persons into Kyrgyzstan. The exception is drivers engaged in international freight transport, crews and flight personnel of aircraft, train and locomotive teams of international railway traffic. The ban also does not apply to accredited employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states, as well as accredited employees of international organizations and family members of these persons in case of informing in advance about their arrival through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons, who are members of the families of Kyrgyzstanis with documentary evidence of close family ties, or have a permanent residence permit in the Kyrgyz Republic, will be able to enter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will suspend issuance of entry visas of all categories to foreign citizens and stateless persons for the period of the ban. The entry ban for foreigners will remain in effect until the government decree is canceled.
Laos Partially restricted
From April 1, 2020, the Laotian government has suspended the issuing of new visas and visa-on-arrival services. All persons (including Lao nationals) arriving in Laos are required to strictly follow the rules and regulations set-forth by the Ministry of Health to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. Foreign nationals are required to self-isolate for 14 days following arrival in Laos.
Lebanon Entry prohibited
Lebanon declared on March 15 a state of emergency and ordered a lockdown. Beirut International Airport, all ports and land borders will be closed from March 18 until further notice.
Entry into Lebanese territory is prohibited for travelers. Diplomats, UN peacekeepers, employees of international organizations and goods shipments would still be permitted entry.
Maldives Entry prohibited
From March 27, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering the Maldives. The Maldivian government has suspended all visa-on-arrival service.
Mongolia Entry prohibited
From March 22 until May 31, 2020, foreign nationals will be banned from entry. All commercial flights, passenger rail, and auto traffic into and out of Mongolia are suspended during this time period.
Myanmar Entry prohibited
From April 11 to May 15, 2020, all persons (including Myanmar nationals) arriving from abroad must undergo a 21-day quarantine at a designated facility followed by 7 days of self-isolation at home. All international flights are suspended.
From March 29 to May 15, 2020, the Myanmar government has suspended the issuing of visas to foreign nationals. This policy does not apply to accredited diplomats, United Nations officials, and crews of ships or aircraft traveling to and from Myanmar. All existing visa-free and visa-on-arrival arrangements are suspended.
From March 21, 2020, all persons (including Myanmar nationals) having visited any of the following countries within 14 days of their arrival in Myanmar are required to present a valid medical certificate (issued by a recognized health authority in their country of departure) stating they show no symptoms of acute respiratory illness such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath prior to departing for Myanmar: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
From March 21, 2020, foreign nationals who have traveled to areas in South Korea or China with known COVID-19 outbreaks within 14 days of their arrival in Myanmar are prohibited from entering.
Nepal Entry prohibited
From March 14 to April 30, 2020, the Nepali government has suspended visa-on-arrival services for tourists entering the country via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Nepali embassies and consulates abroad will decide whether to issue visas after inspecting an applicant’s health certificate. All persons will be screened for COVID-19 at Tribhuvan International Airport and be required to provide a health clearance. Those granted entry must self-isolate for 14 days.
From March 22 until May 31, 2020, all international flights are suspended. All land border checkpoints with India and China are closed until May 13, 2020.

Nepal has halted all mountaineering expeditions and revoked already-issued or to be-issued permits for the spring climbing season.
A nationwide lockdown is in effect until May 18, 2020. People are advised to stay indoors and only essential services such as hospitals, police offices, and grocery stores remain open. Public transportation is also halted.
Oman Partially restricted
From March 29, all international flights will be suspended.
The government has announced following resolutions:
Ban on entry of all non-Omanis to the sultanate’s territories via all land, sea and air ports and checkpoints, except citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council states from March 17. Imposing quarantine on all passengers arriving in the Sultanate via all land, sea and air ports and checkpoints, including Omanis. The country has suspended issuing of tourist visas beginning on March 15.
The government has announced following resolutions:
Ban on entry of all non-Omanis to the sultanate’s territories via all land, sea and air ports and checkpoints, except citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council states from March 17. Imposing quarantine on all passengers arriving in the Sultanate via all land, sea and air ports and checkpoints, including Omanis. Pakistan Entry prohibited
From March 21, 2020, all international passenger flights are suspended.
Philippines Entry prohibited
From March 22, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering the Philippines. This policy does not apply to foreign spouses and children of Filipino citizens, diplomatic official, and those working for international organizations. From March 19, 2020, the Philippine government has suspended the issuing of new visas. All existing visa-free entry arrangements are temporarily suspended.
Palestine Partially restricted
From March 22, travelers from abroad will be quarantined at designated locations.
Qatar Entry prohibited
From March 16, 2020, inbound flights to Doha are suspended. Persons transiting through Qatar and Qatari nationals returning from abroad must undergo a 14-day quarantine either in a designated facility or at home.
Saudi Arabia Entry prohibited
From February 27, Saudi Arabia has temporarily halted the entry of pilgrims entering the country to visit holy sites.
From March 9, Saudi Arabia temporarily banned citizens and foreigners living in Saudi Arabia from traveling to United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, South Korea, Egypt, Italy, Iraq, Oman, France, Germany, Turkey and Spain. Saudi Arabia has also stopped flights and ships from these countries.
From March 12, the country has suspended flights to all European Union countries as well as Switzerland, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Sudan, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea, Kenya, Djibouti, and Somalia, has suspended land travel to and from Jordan.
Arrivals from all the above-mentioned countries and those who have been there in the last 14 days have been temporarily barred from entering the country. From March 13, all travelers entering Saudi Arabia have to self-quarantine for 14 days.

From March 15, Saudi Arabia will suspend international flights for two weeks. The Saudi Port Authority announced a suspension of sea travel except cargo with the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, South Korea, China, EU countries, Switzerland, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Eritrea, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, the Philippines, suspension of outbound travel of Saudi citizens and foreign residents in Saudi Arabia by sea, suspension of entry of travelers who have stayed in the above countries in the past 14 days.All employees returning to Saudi Arabia from abroad, as well as those who have symptoms, must be quarantined at homes for 14 days.
From March 21 until further notice, all air, coach, taxi and rail transport have been suspended.
Sri Lanka Entry prohibited
Sri Lanka has indefinitely suspended the issuance of all visas for all visitors. All visas issued will no longer be valid. From March 22, All passenger flight & ship arrivals into Sri Lanka stopped till Covid-19 threat is brought under control. All departure flights from Sri Lanka will continue to operate as usual.
Syria Partially restricted
From March 19, Citizens of 26 countries will be temporarily banned from entry, citizens of China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany, France, the United States, Japan, Belgium, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland will be banned from entry for two months, citizens of Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco will be banned from entry for one month. Travelers from other countries must be quarantined at home for 14 days after entry. Those with suspected symptoms will be transferred to designated locations for quarantine.
From March 23, the Kassab port on the Syrian-Turkish border has been closed. From March 24, all crossing points have been closed for arrivals from Lebanon, Persons from Lebanon, including Syrian citizens, will be banned from entering, except for cargo vehicle driver who after health check.
All international flights to and from Syria will be suspended from March 22.
Tajikistan Entry prohibited
From April 8, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering or exiting Tajikistan. This policy does not apply to diplomats and representatives of international organizations or financial institutions accredited in Tajikistan, or their family members.
Persons granted entry to Tajikistan must self-isolate for 14 days under supervision of staff from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
Thailand Entry prohibited
From March 29, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Thailand unless they fall into one of the following categories:
1) Persons directly permitted by the Prime Minister or a “competent official” appointed by the Prime Minister to act under the Emergency Decree;
2) Persons transporting necessary goods who will depart upon completing their task;
3) Persons (including crew members) operating vehicles who need to enter Thailand pursuant to their mission and who have a clearly scheduled time of departure;
4) Persons (including their family members) on diplomatic or consular missions or under the auspices of International Organizations or agencies, or government representatives performing official duties in Thailand to whom the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given special permission;
5) Non-Thai nationals holding work permits or who have been granted permission from Thai government agencies to work in Thailand;
6) Thai nationals who reside abroad and who hold a medical certificate or who have applied for a certificate of entry into Thailand from a Thai embassy or consulate in their country of residence.
All persons granted an exemption under categories (4), (5), or (6) must hold a “Fit-to-Fly Health Certificate” certified and issued no more than 72 hours prior to departure for Thailand.
From April 4 to May 31, 2020, all incoming passenger flights are prohibited from landing in Thailand.
Timor-Leste Entry prohibited
From April 4, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Timor-Leste. This policy does not apply to persons born in Timor-Leste, resident citizens, legal representatives of minors who are Timorese nationals, persons working on oil rigs in the Timor Sea, and other persons specially designated by the Prime Minister whose entry is considered in the national interest. Persons engaged in the transport of goods must remain within the international zone at all airports, seaports, or land border checkpoints. All persons granted entry to Timor-Leste will be tested for COVID-19. Those testing positive will be placed in quarantine and isolated. All other persons must undergo a 14-day quarantine. All commercial flights are suspended.
Turkey Entry prohibited
From March March 27, 2020, all international passenger flights are suspended. Turkey’s land border checkpoints with Bulgaria, Greece, Iran, and Iraq are closed. Any person granted entry to Turkey must undergo health screening for COVID-19 upon arrival and a 14-day quarantine.
Turkmenistan Entry prohibited
From April 1 to May 20, 2020, the entry or transit of freight vehicles engaged in international transportation is restricted.
From March 20 to May 20, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Turkmenistan. This policy does not apply to diplomats and staff of international organizations, aviation, maritime, and railway crews, international freight drivers, and foreign nationals working in Turkmenistan.
All persons subject to exemption must produce a health clearance form issued by an authorized medical institution in order to enter Turkmenistan. The clearance form should include the following information: name, gender, age, nationality, passport number, permanent address, phone number, travel route, date of entry and purpose, local address in the Turkmenistan, and test results for COVID-19 (issued within 24 hours of arrival). The form must include both English and Russian translations.
Uzbekistan Entry prohibited
From March 16 until May 10, 2020, all air and land connections will be suspended, any foreigners will be denied entry. All international flights will be suspended until June 30, 2020, except for cargo.
Vietnam Entry prohibited
From March 22, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Vietnam. This policy does not apply to diplomats and persons traveling for official or particular purposes such as participants in crucial international events, foreign experts, business managers, high-skilled workers, etc. All persons (including Vietnamese nationals) entering Vietnam must undergo examination for COVID-19 and quarantine at a designated facility. This policy does not apply to diplomats, persons traveling for official purposes, and Vietnamese nationals holding diplomatic or official passports.
From March 22, 2020, the Vietnamese government has suspended visa-free arrangements pertaining to Vietnamese nationals residing overseas and their family members.
Yemen Entry prohibited
From March 17, all air flights from and to all Yemeni airports, all land entrances should be closed except for commercial, relief and humanitarian shipping.
United Kingdom Normal
The United Kingdom has not imposed any additional entry restrictions related to COVID-19; however, many UK Visa Application Centres (VACs) are closed or offering limited services. Contact the nearest UK embassy or consulate for more information. From March 29, 2020, the UK government is enforcing a policy of strict social distancing. All persons currently in the UK are advised to remain indoors and go outside only for very limited purposes.
Germany Entry prohibited
From March 16, 2020, all non-essential travel to Germany is prohibited. Border checkpoints have been reintroduced at Germany’s land borders with Austria, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. Border controls are also in place on air routes from Italy and Spain, and along the sea border with Denmark. EU citizens, citizens from countries associated with the Schengen Area, and citizens from the United Kingdom are allowed to transit through Germany to reach their home country or country of residence.
From April 10, 2020, all persons entering Germany are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine. This policy does not apply to cross-border commuters, those with urgent appointments, or persons transiting through Germany, provided they do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.
Italy Entry prohibited
From March 28, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Italy. This policy provides exemptions for health reasons, work requirements, and reasons of absolute necessity. Transit through Italy from one foreign country to another is allowed only for work requirements, medical needs, or reasons of absolute necessity.
All persons entering Italy (including Italian nationals) are required to self-isolate for 14 days. Prior to boarding transportation bound for Italy, the carrier staff will collect the following information from all travelers: the reason for travel to Italy, an address where the traveler will self-isolate for 14 days, the private means of transportation to be used to reach the self-isolation location, and a contact phone number.

France Entry prohibited
From March 17, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering France. This policy does not apply to EU citizens or citizens from countries associated with the Schengen Area. From April 8, 2020, all persons are required to present a certificate attesting to their purpose of travel before departing for France or a French overseas territory. Certificates are available for download from the French Ministry of the Interior.
Spain Partially restricted
On 16 March, 2020, the European Commission recommended to Member States to apply a temporary 30 days coordinated restriction of non-essential travel from third countries into the EU. Following the endorsement by EU leaders, all EU Member States (except Ireland) and all Schengen Associated Countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland) are now applying this travel restriction.
On 8 April, the Commission invited Member States and non-EU Schengen countries to extend the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU until 15 May.
State of emergency has been extended until May 10, 2020. From March 17, land borders will only allow entry to Spanish citizens and long-term residents of the country.
Government approved de-escalation plan which will gradually be implemented from May 4 until end of June 2020. Shops, restaurants, hotels and tourist accommodation may open under strict safety conditions.
Portugal Entry prohibited
From March 17, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Portugal. This policy does not apply to EU citizens or citizens from countries associated with the Schengen Area.
From March 18, 2020, all air and land borders with Spain are closed to tourism and leisure travelers. All international flights are suspended for 30 days except for those to EU countries, countries where Portuguese is the official language, and countries with a large Portuguese diaspora (i.e. Canada, United States, South Africa, and Venezuela).
From March 23, 2020, all persons entering Portugal must undergo a 14-day quarantine.
Sweden Partially restricted
From March 18, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Sweden. This policy does not apply to EU citizens, citizens from countries associated with the Schengen Area, citizens of the United Kingdom, persons holding Swedish residence permits, or persons traveling for essential reasons.

From March 15, the Albanian government has closed its border, except for cargo transport.
Austria Entry prohibited

The Embassy of Austria and VFS are not able to accept any visa applications until further notice.
Austria has suspended the entry of third-country nationals (non-EU/EEA/CH citizens) entering Austria by air from outside the Schengen area. Exceptions apply for members of diplomatic missions and employees of international organizations (including their family members living in the same household), humanitarian workers, nursing and health personnel, seasonal workers (in the agricultural and forestry sector), transit passengers, and persons who work in freight transport, as well as for family members of Austrian (and EU/EEA/CH) citizens living in the same household, and holders of a D visa or residence permit issued by Austria.
Exempt third-country nationals as well as those arriving by air from within the Schengen area will only be allowed to enter Austria upon presentation of a medical certificate confirming a negative molecular-biological SARS-CoV-2 test.

Armenia declared a state of emergency until May 14, 2020, the borders with neighboring Georgia and Iran will be closed, and foreigners from countries with a high incidence of coronavirus will be barred from entering, while Armenian citizens will be able to leave only by air.

The government has declared a state of emergency. Foreign citizens are temporarily banned from entering the country,except for residents and diplomats. All foreign citizens must self-quarantine at home for 14 days after entry.
Bulgaria Entry prohibited
The Bulgarian government has banned the entry of travelers from the following 15 countries beginning March 18: Italy, Spain, Iran, Republic of Korea, China, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, The Netherlands, India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. These restrictions do not apply to Bulgarian citizens and their family members, or persons with permanent or long term residence permits and members of their families.

The European Union has decided on March 17 to apply a coordinated temporary restriction of non-essential travel to the EU for a period of 30 days. The travel ban will affect all non-EU nationals from visiting the bloc, except long-term residents, family members of EU nationals and diplomats, cross-border and healthcare workers, and people transporting goods.
From March 16, all foreign nationals will be banned from entry, except for permanent residents and holders of residence visa with a duration of stay of more than 90 days.

Iceland Partially restricted
As of 20 March 2020, foreign nationals – except EU/EEA, EFTA or UK nationals – are not allowed to enter Iceland. This advice is valid until May 15, 2020.
Ireland Partially restricted
All persons arriving in Ireland must self-isolate for 14-days. Public transportation and passenger travel is limited to persons buying food or medicines, going to medical appointments, and for essential works. Ireland’s offshore islands are closed to all non-residents and ports are closed to leisure vessels. All persons are advised to remain at home until May 18, 2020.
Latvia Entry prohibited
From March 17, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Latvia. This policy does not apply to permanent residents, Estonian and Lithuanian nationals or permanent residents who need to cross Latvian territory, diplomats, persons requiring humanitarian assistance, and persons engaged in the transport of freight or passengers, who intend to depart Latvia upon completion of their duties.

Malta suspends flights and ferries to and from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland, Persons entering Malta from any other country from March 13, 2020 onwards must spend 14 days in mandatory quarantine, which 14 days start from the last day that they were in any of these countries. From March 16, foreign citizens without resident card of Montenegro have been banned from entering.Public transport of passengers in international road, rail and air traffic is suspended. All persons entering have to self quarantine at home for 14 days, as well as the familiy members living in the same household.

From March 28, 2020, all persons arriving in Australia will be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine in a designated facility at their port of arrival.
New Zealand Entry prohibited
From March 19, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering New Zealand. This policy allows for exemptions made on a case-by-case basis for humanitarian reasons, healthcare and other essential workers, citizens of Samoa and Tonga traveling to New Zealand for essential reasons, and partners or dependents of temporary workers or foreign students currently in New Zealand.

Entry will also be permitted for any immediate family (partner or spouse, legal guardian and dependent children) if they are travelling with one of the above persons.

Palau Normal
From February 5 to March 31, Palau will prohibit entry of all travelers with travel history originating from or transiting through mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau within 14 days of their arrival in the country.
Exemption may be made to this prohibition for Palauan citizens and residents, provided that such persons submit to a comprehensive health screening and agree to a 14-day self-quarantine upon arrival in Palau.

On 22 March 2020, the Government of Papua New Guinea declared a State of Emergency, and ceased all Air Niugini inbound international flights. On 3 April 2020, the Government of Papua New Guinea announced a further extension to the State of Emergency for two (2) months. All international flights remain banned. Only Papua New Guinean passport holders and Permanent Residents will be permitted to travel to Port Moresby.

All international travelers, travelling to Samoa are prohibited from entering Samoa unless: the traveler is a returning citizen or resident of Samoa; and that returning resident or citizen must have a COVID-19 test within 5 days before entering Samoa, 14 days self-quarantine will apply on a case by case basis.
NO traveler is allowed to board any flight if has a history of having suffered or admitted to any hospital with a Viral, flu like illness or with symptoms of fever, cough, generalized body weakness and shortness of breath with in the past 20 days before travel to Samoa.
There shall be only 3 flights between Samoa and New Zealand, for each carrier and each carrier must not exceed carriage of 490 passengers per week to Samoa. There shall be only 1 flight between Samoa and Australia per week.

From March 22, Non-Citizens of Solomon Islands will not be permitted to enter the country. Solomon Islands Citizens and residents who travelled through any country reporting cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) will be permitted to enter but will undergo mandatory strict quarantine for 14 days.

From March 26 to May 15, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Tonga. This policy does not apply to persons who hold a Tongan passport, a valid residency permit, or a valid working visa, or persons approved by the Ministry of Health. All airports are closed to international flights.
Vanuatu Partially restricted
On March 26, 2020, a 14-day nation-wide State of Emergency has been declared, with curfews imposed to restrict the operation of businesses, public transportation and fuel stations except essential services.
United States Partially restricted
Foreign nationals who have visited any of the following countries / regions within 14 days of their arrival in the United States are prohibited from entering:
Austria, Belgium, China, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City, United Kingdom.
American nationals and lawful permanent residents (including their family members) who have traveled in any of the above-listed countries / regions within 14 days of their arrival in the United States may enter; however, they will be redirected to one of 13 specially designated airports.

From March 25,foreign citizens will not be allowed entry, except for: Uruguayan citizens and foreigners residing in Uruguay. Citizens of MERCOSUR member states are allowed to transit in Uruguay to travel back to their countries of origin.
Until April 13, Uruguayan citizens and foreigners residing in Uruguay shall not leave the country for tourist purposes.
Venezuela Partially restricted
From March 12, all the country will be in quarantine. Flights to and from Europe and Colombia have been suspended. From March 14, flights to and from Panama and Dominica have been suspended. All travelers have to self-quarantine for 14 days after entry.
The Venezuelan government announced the implementation of “social isolation” measures across the country until May 21, 2020, requiring all citizens to be isolated at home.

From March 17, 2020, all air, land, and sea border checkpoints are closed. A nationwide state of emergency is in effect.

From March 20, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering Angola. All air, land, and sea border checkpoints are closed.
Benin Partially restricted
From March 19, land borders will be strictly controlled, unnecessary entry will be denied, travelers will be screened and those having symptoms will be quarantined. Visa service will be restricted, all travelers entering the airport will be quarantined, and foreigners have to pay the cost.
Botswana Entry prohibited
From March 28, 2020, all international flights are suspended. A state of emergency is in effect and all persons currently in Botswana are expected to practice strict physical distancing. Movement across border checkpoints is restricted. Botswana nationals returning from aboard must undergo a 14-day quarantine.
Burkina Faso Entry prohibited
From March 21, 2020, all air, land, and sea border checkpoints are closed until further notice.
Burundi Entry prohibited
International passenger flights are suspended. All travelers who have visited Australia, China, the European Union, Iran, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, and United States must undergo a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.
Cameroon Entry prohibited
From March 18 until further notice, all borders will be closed closed, all international flights will suspended, except for freight flights and ships that transport consumer goods all airports will no longer issue entry visa.
Cape Verde Entry prohibited
From March 27, 2020, all air, land, and sea border checkpoints are closed. A nationwide quarantine is in effect.
Chad Partially restricted
All travellers will undergo temperature check and hand disinfection at N’Djamena International Airport, all travelers from high risk countries or regions are subject to a 14-day medical observation. The government has decided to suspend flights to N’Djamena from midnight on March 19.
Comoros Partially restricted
All travelers from coronavirus affected countries or regions will not be allowed entry.
Republic of the Congo Entry prohibited
From March 21, all borders, by land, sea, river, and air, will be closed to human traffic. This closure will not apply to goods, supplies and cargo. State of Emergency is extended until May 10, 2020.
Central African Republic Entry prohibited
From March 26, 2020 foreign nationals having visited any country or region impacted by COVID-19 within 15 days of their arrival in the Central African Republic are prohibited from entry. This policy does not apply to diplomats and staff of humanitarian missions.
Democratic Republic of the Congo Partially restricted
From March 20, all flights from countries at risk have been suspended, except cargo. All passengers residing in countries at risk have to postpone their travel to DRC. All travelers will be screened, suspected cases will be subject to a 14-day quarantine, those tested positive will be transferred to hospitals.
Côte d’Ivoire Entry prohibited
From March 22, all borders, by land, sea and air, will be closed to human traffic. This closure will not apply to goods, supplies and cargo.
Djibouti Entry prohibited
All flights to/from Djibouti will be suspended except cargo flights effective from March 18.
Egypt Normal
All international flights to/from all Egyptian Airports will be suspended except cargo flights effective from March 19. From March 25 until April 23, 2020, Egypt will impose a nightly curfew.
Ethiopia Partially restricted
All travelers will be quarantined for 14 days at their own cost.
Equatorial Guinea Partially restricted
From March 15, 2020, Equatorial Guinea has closed its borders and suspended all commercial flights. Travelers arriving from countries impacted by COVID-19 must undergo a 14-day quarantine. A state of emergency is in place until April 30, 2020.
Eritrea Entry prohibited
From March 25, 2020, commercial passenger flights to and from Eritrea are suspended. From April 2, 2020, a nationwide lockdown is in effect.
Gabon Partially restricted
The government announced on March 14 that the granting of tourist visas is suspended from the most infected areas, namely the European Union, China, South Korea and the United States.

The partial lockdown is extended until May 10, 2020, all borders will be closed, only returning citizens and legal residents are allowed entry.
Guinea-bissau Entry prohibited
From March 18, all land, air and sea borders of the country have been closed.
Kenya Entry prohibited
On March 15,the Government announced that it has suspended entry for all persons coming into Kenya from any country with reported Coronavirus cases.Only Kenyan Citizens and foreigners with valid resident permits will be allowed entry provided they take up self-quarantine or check into a government designated quarantine facility.
This will take effect within the next 48 hours to cater for any passengers who may be enroute. This directive will remain in effect for the next 30 days or as varied by the National Emergency Response Committee.
Additionally, all persons who have come into Kenya in the last 14 days must self-quarantine while any person who exhibits symptoms such as cough or fever should present themselves to the nearest health facility for testing.

Lesotho Normal
The lockdown is extended until May 16, 2020, all borders are closed, all persons are not allowed to enter Lesotho, except for emergency. Every person shall be confined to his place of residence.

Liberia Entry prohibited
From March 16, travelers who have been in countries with more than 200 confirmed cases Coronavirus within 14 days before their arrival in Liberia will be denied entry. The Government of Liberia has declared a state of national health emergency, designating Montserrado and Margibi Counties as infected areas. Except for cargo, chattered and special flights, all commercial flights are ordered suspended as of March 23.
Madagascar Entry prohibited
From March 14, all international flights have been suspended.Cruise ships are also banned from entering ports in Madagascar.
Malawi Entry prohibited
The President on March 20 declared a state of disaster. From March 23 foreigners from coronavirus-hit countries would be barred from entering Malawi, while nationals and residents returning from affected countries would be subjected to self- or institutional quarantine. The Malawi government has also temporary suspended the issuance of visas to citizens of countries highly affected by the disease.
Mauritania Entry prohibited
All travelers will be quarantined for 14 days. The borders with neighboring countries are closed, 6 border crossings remain open. All travelers will undergo temperature check at entry points. From March 17, all flights to Mauritania will be suspended.

From March 19, 2020, foreign nationals are prohibited from entering or transiting through Mauritius. A nationwide lockdown is in effect until June 1, 2020.
Mali Entry prohibited
From March 19, all flights from countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus will be suspended.
Morocco Entry prohibited
From April 25, 2020, a nationwide curfew is in effect. All international flights are suspended. This policy does not apply to cargo flights.
Mozambique Partially restricted
The Government declared a state of emergency until May 30, 2020, movements within the country and the entry of people across borders will be limited, all people who have travelled outside the country during the past month or have been in contact with people infected with COVID-19 have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Namibia Entry prohibited
From May 5 to June 2, 2020, Stage 2 restrictions will be in place. There will be a gradual re-opening under Strict Precautions.People will be permitted to travel domestically between regions and within towns and cities, without restriction.
Borders will remain closed for non-Namibians but returning Namibians will be permitted to re-enter the country, subject to screening at points of entry and supervised quarantine for 14 days.
Niger Normal
From March 19, all international flights to and from Niger will be suspended for two weeks and may be extended if necessary, all land borders will be closed, cargo transportation will not be restricted.
Nigeria Partially restricted
Nigeria is restricting entry into the country for travelers from China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, the United States, Norway, UK, Netherlands and Switzerland. The Federal Government of Nigeria has also suspended the issuance of visa on arrival to travelers from these countries. All travelers returning from these countries prior to the restriction will be in supervised self-isolation.
The restriction will take effect starting on March 20 and will be in place until further notice. From March 23, all airports will be closed to international flights.
From March 30,Nigeria will restrict all movement of people and ordered businesses and offices closed in its two main cities, Lagos and Abuja, as well as Ogun state. On April 27, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that there will be a phased and gradual easing of the lockdown in these locations.
Rwanda Entry prohibited
From March 21 until further notice, borders are closed except for returning Rwandan citizens, and legal residents who will be subject to mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated locations.Travel between different cities and districts of the country is not permitted.
Sao Tome and Principe Entry prohibited
From March 17, the Country has entered a state of public health emergency. All foreign citizens are not allowed to enter; citizens and residents of Sao Tome and Principe have to self-quarantine at home isolation. Technology and government delegations invited by the government of Sao Tome and Principe are allowed to enter, but must have a proof of negative testing results of the coronavirus at the airport of departure. Charter flights are prohibited from landing at Sao Tome and Principe airports, and cruise ships are prohibited from docking at the ports of Sao Tome and Principe. Crew and passengers of cargo ships, fishing vessels, and yachts are prohibited from docking in Ports of Sao Tome and Principe.
Senegal Entry prohibited
From March 14, 2020, cruise ships are prohibited from docking at Senegalese ports and health screening at border checkpoints has been enhanced. From March 21, 2020, all flights are suspended with the exception of cargo flights. A state of emergency is in effect until May 3, 2020.
Seychelles Entry prohibited
From 25 March 2020, Any passenger arriving from ANY country (except returning Seychellois citizens) will NOT be allowed to enter Seychelles. A foreign national who requires to enter Seychelles for any special mission has to obtain written permission from the Public Health Commissioner prior to leaving the country of origin. Returning Seychellois citizens will be quarantined for 14 days.
Sierra Leone Entry prohibited
From March 24, 2020, all border checkpoints are closed and a state of emergency is effect. All persons granted entry to Sierra Leone who have traveled to locations impacted by COVID-19 within 14 days of their arrival must undergo a 14-day quarantine.
Somalia Normal
From March 18, all international flights will be suspended for 15 days.
South Africa Normal
The National Coronavirus Command Council determined that the national coronavirus alert level will be lowered from level 5 to level 4 with effect from May 1, 2020. Borders will remain closed to international travel, except for the repatriation of South African nationals and foreign citizens.
No travel will be allowed between provinces, except for the transportation of goods and exceptional circumstances such as funerals. Public transport will continue to operate, with limitations on the number of passengers and stringent hygiene requirements, including that all passengers must wear a face mask.
The public is encouraged to stay at home, other than for essential personal movement, doing essential work and work in sectors that are under controlled opening.

South Sudan Entry prohibited
Travelers from more than 70 coronavirus affected countries and regions will not be allowed entry. From March 23, all international passenger flights will be suspended and all borders will be closed, except for cargo and humanitarian missions. All land borders will be closed, except for cargo.

From March 16, the government has declared a state of health emergency and closed all airports, sea and land border, except for humanitarian mission, technical support and cargo.
Tanzania Entry prohibited
From April 5, 2020, all persons arriving in Tanzania must undergo a 14-day quarantine at a designated location at their own expense. Residents are advised to postpone all non-essential international travel.
Togo Entry prohibited
From March 20, 2020, all air, land, and sea border checkpoints are closed. This policy does not apply to goods, supplies, or cargo. From April 1, 2020, a state of emergency is in effect for 3 months and a nationwide curfew has been imposed.
Tunisia Entry prohibited
From March 18, 2020, all air, land, and sea border checkpoints are closed. Nationwide limits on movement are in place. Only essential travel or travel for vital services is permitted until May 3, 2020.
Uganda Entry prohibited
From March 25, 2020, Uganda has stopped all passengers coming into Uganda by air, land or water; this affected in-coming planes, buses, taxis or boats; Also prohibited from entry were the pedestrians ─ people walking on foot from the neighboring countries. Zambia Partially restricted

All international flights should land and depart from KENNETH KAUNDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT only. Travellers entering Zambia will be quarantined for 14 days at their own cost. All oversea missions have stopped issuing tourist visa, travellers holding tourist visa will be denied entry.
Zimbabwe Partially restricted
From March 17, 2020, some border checkpoints are closed and travelers are subject to enhanced health screening measures. A national curfew is in effect and all persons are required to stay at home. Foreign nationals planning to visit Zimbabwe must postpone their travel plans for at least 30 days. Persons arriving from countries or regions severely impacted by COVID-19 must self-isolate for 14 days after entry.
